Download PDFFReD is the lightest and most advanced structural fire protection (SFP) system available. FReD is a modular system having a clean bright look, while providing the required protection to the vessel’s aluminium structure in the event of a fire.
Lightweight
The installed system weight of FReD is 5.3kg/m2 and therefore it is the lightest panelized SFP system in the world. This helps the shipyard to achieve desired vessel speed and maximise payload. Passenger comfort is increased by lowering the vessel’s centre of gravity, and operations may be eased in shallower waters. The vessel owner or operator can reduce CO2 emissions and improve fuel economy.
Accessibility
The modular system allows quick and easy access to the vessel’s structure and service. Panels can be easily removed and replaced to access services behind, due to the quick-release installation system.

With a standard panel size of 2400mmL x 1200mmW, efficient area coverage is assured in addition to fast and easy installation.
